The Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club has over a century of tradition in protecting bathers with manned patrols and associated services who frequent our beaches, being established in 1907.

Being one of the oldest Surf Life Saving Clubs in Australia and the second oldest north of Sydney, Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club is located at Main Beach, Byron Bay and has a proud tradition and commitment to the local community.

Our beach is patrolled every day of the year by both the Australian Lifeguard Service on weekdays and Volunteers from the local Byron Bay area, who donate their time, on weekends and public holidays.

The Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club runs Nippers every Sunday commencing 9am from October through to March. The Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club has a large group of Senior members both competitive and recreational.

The Club, every January, hosts The Byron Board Paddle in May each year the Byron Bay Ocean Swim Classic and The Byron Bay Triathlon in May.
